Icecap Gyre 3k

Looking for opinions on placement and programming for 3k. As you can see it currently sits on side of my 120g running forward and reverse up to 80%. Looks like getting a dead spot just below the one rock any thoughts?

The way that rock stands, it nearly impossible not to get a dead spot under the rock. You might try placing the pump to the side of the tank (above the rock) and run it in gyre mod where the reverse flow faces the rock. Maybe that might blow some water under the rock.

I agree, I think you'll have to change the placement of the pump to get that spot. However... You could also just keep it there and siphon out the spot whenever you do water changes. Having a dead spot isn't really a big deal imo, as long as you know it's there.

I'd try moving the gyre up in the water column, will make it stronger.

Not really in terms of the water that passes through the pump but it will probably make the flow more laminar, so it might push more water forward compared to being lower.
