There was food grade sodium triphosphate available on Amazon, I think. That'd be fine.

wondering what the purity of the sodium triphosphate on amazon? i dont do much water change so preferred to have a higher grade stuff, so i introduce less stuff into the system.
anyone know the mixing ratio and dosage?

Contact a pool chemical supplier and ask for prices of nsf approved for drinking water liquid polyphosphate. Around here its about $75 a gallon it's used for sucqustration of metals like iron or mangnese and to coat the inside of pipes to stop corrosion. Most pool chem suppliers also sell this grade. You can litterally take a drop of this mix it in a gallon on water and dose that by drop

Feed your fish more. Corals can distinguish between nitrogen based on it's source and prefer fish poop there's no reason to believe they can't do the same for phosphate.

i am already overfeeding, anymore feeding will speed up an overfed fish problem for me down the road. i am not going down that rabbit hole again. all my tangs are about 1/2" thick and they are all young. none of the tang is over 4" in length. beside the powderbrown, it might hits 4.5.

7 tangs
1 copperbanded
2 clown
and 6 new queen anthias
i am feeding 4 homemade cubes which equivalent to 8 cubes of hikari mysis, 3 cubes of PE mysis, about 1 cube cyclopzze. that's for the fish. within those cube i also have KZ AA(6-8 drops/day), AF AVB(6-8 drops/day),AF fishV(2 drops/day), Polyplab poly-booster(.5 ml/day), RS Energy AB (8-12ml/day) and a pinch of Otohime B1.

Check Etsy for trisodium phosphate. About 8 bucks and free shipping.

A non-food-grade product probably will be okay, given the low amount entering the tank. The drinking-water product probably will be fine, too.

My brain is rusty. I meant trisodium phosphate. Sigh! Sodium triphosphate is different, but it does exist. It is used in foods. It should be okay, too, but I would need to double-check. I think that I might have confused the two when giving a recommendation.

This is what I use to dose my tank.

https://www.amazon.com/Monosodium-Ph...70_&dpSrc=srch

You can use the following formula to calculate your values. When I mix up PO4 dosing solution, I make it such that 1ml of dosed solution will raise my tank volume by 0.01ppm PO4.

NaH2PO4 molecular weight = 119.98g/mol, PO4 = ~95g/mol.

TANK_VOLUME_IN_LITERS * 0.01ppm (this is the value you can change if you want to make your solution stronger/weaker) = ?? mg

Be aware that this is milligrams, not grams. Very little goes a long way.

This rule should be close:
Quote:
15 mg/gallon of trisodium phosphate yields about 1 ppm phosphate.
I'd try some water for changes first, since I haven't gotten any confirmation.
