Is that a little cat/dog bed on the bench so your pet can see the tank too?

Are you using a continuous water change system? How is it working out?

Of all the tanks here, yours is the one I check in to see if anything new is posted.
Very cool. Your camera sure shows the colors well. |

Moisture issues....small price to pay for what you have in your home. At least your on top of it before it becomes a much larger price to pay.

I just read through this whole thread and wow, Im very impressed. Im getting ready to build a tank the same size. If you dont mind me asking 2 questions.
Do you regret not putting a access on the front like a few people told you in the beginning? How hard is it to reach the front glass to clean? You said at one point you put in a maxpect gyre 280? Did you add another? Is this your main source of flow? if so whats your layout? Thanks and im super impressed!!! Ross

I am very happy with the clean look on the front of the tank with no access panel. I can walk on the stand because it sticks out 6" farther than the tank in the back. I have no problem reaching the front of the tank but it helps that I am 6'8" tall. I use a magnet to clean the front glass without any problem. I have 2 maxspect gyre 280 pumps. One on each end of the tank. Those are the only pumps I use for flow. I may add a third in the future. Sent from my E6810 using Tapatalk

The Apex is measuring flow on both returns, totalling about 1400 gph and flow on skimmer pump vectra m1 at 2250 gph. PH fluctuates between 8.3 and 8.15 throughout the day. temp is hovering around 73 this time of year. Return pumps are on feed cycle a and shut off for 5 mins. i also have the 3 gyre pumps on feed cycle b so i can easily shut them down when i need to access the tank from the top. my Bubble Magus dosing pump is connected and shuts off if ph goes above 8.4. i have 1 of 3 500 watt heaters on the apex and it kicks on below 73. the other 2 are not on the Apex because i currently top out over 14.5 amps when everything is turned on including 2x400 watt halides. i need another Apex power strip to hook up the complete system which would add 5x AI Sol lights, 1 Radion XR30 gen 4, 2x AI Sol and the other 2x500 watt heaters. i never thought i needed an Apex but now that i have it, i love it.

Just found this thread. I'm in awe. Beautiful reef tank !!!
Where in CT are you located? My 180 gallon is coming together now, going to be SPS dominated but a few other softies and LPS to mix things up a bit. |
