Local Fish Store with good staff?
Hi All,
I'm new to the area and starting to put together my first saltwater tank. I saw the sticky on LFS but just looking to see who has the best/knowledgeable staff? I'm in Roseville but would drive to Sac if necessary. Thank you! |

Bulk reef supply for best quality. Marine depot for just about anything else. Marine depot has hands down best customer service i have experienced. If something isn't right they make it right with the quickness.

All the stores are pretty knowledgeable, some are more specialized than others. Your Reef mainly focus on corals, Aqualife/Splash Aquarium is 50/50 fish corals and Aquaworkz is fish majority with some corals.

If you are new to the hobby check out BRSTV on google or the Bulk Reef Supply web site. As far as advice from LFS staff be wary. Your Reef is the exception the owner (John) is a good guy and is very knowledgeable.
Aqua Life, Your Reef, Aquarium Depot and Aqua Works are all good stores. Some of them are better at some things than others. |

Thanks everyone for the help. I checked out a couple of these local stores...Marine Depot in Citrus Heights. Had nice employees and good selection of tanks on the floor.
The one everyone keeps recommending is Your Reef. I walked into this store and saw a very small store with a lot of coral, but super small. I didn't meet John though...just a young kid working. |
