Double cone 200 Not working after cup cleaning

Hi, I have the above skimmer with an RD3 pump. Every time I remove the cup and clean (usually every two weeks) I loose the foam head for two to three days. It's almost like the skimmer is bedding in again. I'm really careful to dry everything properly and not touch any parts that will be in contact with the foam head.
All the other skimmers I've owned just carried on working after an hour or two but this one is pretty consistent. I gave the whole skimmer and pump a deep clean a few weeks back and had the same results after that but it does work ok after two or three days until the next time I clean the cup.
Thank's in advance.

Sounds like you're removing the biofilm when cleaning the cup/neck, which would indeed make the skimmer break in again, at least the neck and riser.
Next time when you clean the cup/neck, just spray water to remove the solids, no need for a detergent, or even wiping and drying. Just run it under water and put back.

Ok thank's I don't use detergent but I do wipe and dry. I'll try without next time. Strange as I've not really noticed this on other skimmers I've used.
