Thanks for the comments, so far so good! My wife hasn't made any disparaging comments, so I think I'm on the right track

Here is the fixture with the wires wrapped. I need a nice hook or something to hold it up eventually.

New build looks fantastic and Im sure you'll have great success. cough cough go back to the 120! we all know in a 120 there will be more room for coral, therefore more pictures for us!
Yes, I'll be hiding the plumbing once I get it sorted lol, at this rate who knows when that will happen tho.

To be honest, I think I'm really going to miss the size of my 120... but I'm excited about this project, and growing out some select SPS, with less maintenance in terms of size of the system

sweeet, im really looking forward to the build.
Maintenance wise is pretty awesome with little tanks, but once something goes out of wack, reaction time has to be quicker. you know the deal. Its nice doing significant water changes on a small tank, thats for sure.
keep up the stunning job, can tell already you have a master plan!

I was wondering how you were going to handle the wires.

Say, I wonder if this could be the first TOTM without fish or corals?

Very nice. All these rustic woods and ropes remind me about those western movies.

This is the one thing I'm worried about. I'm going to have to stick to a diligent testing schedule, as I think you hit the nail on the head, things can go out of whack with less margin for error due to the smaller water volume. I may try and incorporate a storage bin and plumb it into the system to get my water volume up another 20 to 30 gallons, I have a room behind the tank that is used for storage, it is a crawl space, but accessible enough, and I plan on putting my electrical back there, with the interface for my RK tank side.

exactly, the more water the better. find a used tall tank to plumb it in so it doesn't take up a lot of foot space and you'll be set. great idea also! cheers bud. may the reefing force be with you!

Great build going on. I'm pretty much doing the same thing. Just recently moved, we had another child. I was setting up my old tank, then of course got side tracked with kids and everything lol. So now I'm thinking of selling my old set up, and putting in a rimless 24x24x12 shallow tank. Even though im at my my new house, bigger tank sounds great, but I think a smaller shallow tank will be fun for me, and the kids as well. I'm going to try and make it as automated as I can, so my family and I can go on vacations and do fun things without having to worry about the tank lol. I have seen some awesome smaller shallow SPS tanks around, so I can't wait. Well good luck can't wait to see this tank continue.

I really like what I have seen so far. I also down sized from a 127 to a 65 with no regrets here, and now a big fan of shallow tanks . Looking forward to your aqua scape fish and coral selection.

Thanks! I'm going to consider a tall tank, along with a few other options, need to sort that out soon.

That sounds like a nice tank, and a very very familiar situation! I would love to have more tank but I could see it becoming overwhelming. Sometimes less is more.

Thanks, I'm going to need some input on the fish selection - what do you have in your tank?

Tank is cycling. 33 pounds of rock, a mix of shelf rock and pukani. Will scape over the coming weeks.

Thanks! I know a guy who gets it from BRS, does all the work to rid it of any potential phosphates, then is nice enough to sell some of his extra pieces at the same price he got it for Thanks again!

Thanks, I'm going to need some input on the fish selection - what do you have in your tank?[/QUOTE] Love peaceful fish! Possum wrasse geometric pygmy hawk also neon gobies a few cardinals and royal grammas. I have 3 large bartlett anthias that spar a lot but never hurt each other. Glad to see rock and water
