Fragging Space Invader pectinia

What is the best way to frag a pectinia coral. I've had my Space Invader Pectinia for about a year now. It had grown out quite well. I just want to frag a small piece for a friend, but I'm worried I may lose the colony of done wrong.

I have done it with a gryphon coral saw. I was warned that the frags do not like glue. Best just to take new frag and lay it on rock work for a week or so to heal, and then glue it to a frag plug after that week or so of healing. The mother should do fine if just returned to its spot in your tank. I did not use any kind of rinse like iodine. Made about 7 frags and still had large mother colony. All healed up well.

There is always risk in fragging any coral however. Others may have different technique or experience as well

Thanks for the advice. I plan on fragging it soon. I just have a Dremel tool that I usually use for fragging. Maybe I'll have to borrow a saw from a local reefer.

A dremel could work depending on the shape of the frag, if a couple straight cuts will do it then you should be good.

Could you clip it with bone cutters?

You could, but that's a lot of torn flesh so the odds of an infection are much higher imo
