Webcam with apex

Hey there guys. I am a younger reefer. 22 to be exact, and all the help you guys provide me is priceless. Anyway, I struggle with reefs at times, but I am pretty good at technology (comp sci major and software developer). I have decided it is time for me to give back to the community I love so much assuming anyone is interested.

I can post a step by step tutorial with exactly what to buy, and set up in order to get your apex web cam up, and running to view your tank anywhere in the world. If your interested just let me know, and I will get to work on it.

ps. the solution costs about 100$, and I'm currently working to get it functioning with 2 cameras, and have had promising results.

Thanks.

Hey I'm interested! Setting up the web cam looks hard. Advise from you and other reefers on which camera they used and what features on the camera they liked would be helpful also.

Thanks for the details, that looks like a workout. Lots of wires, lots of steps. Good job I'm sure someone will use it. Could you have also choose a wireless camera?

You can. You can set it up using an ip cam. You can also make the pi wireless.

Ha. If you were in Ohio I would do it for free. Where are you located?

Also just a heads up. it only takes like 30 minutes to do the whole tutorial. It took me awhile because i tried to document every single step.

Aren't you also posting your build though? In case people don't like how I did it.

Webcam with apex

I just could never figure out how to do that. I would love it, but I am trying to simplify it. My life, and that would make me nuts. I am dreading just reprogramming my Apex.

I see. well if you decide to give it shot it really isn't to bad. the reason why it looks so long is because some of the steps have 2 pictures each. I wanted it to be super easy for people to follow. also if you need help let me know.

Good luck. I hope that you do find something that works for you.

Thanks though
