My VHOs that I used for actinic lighting went out and I am thinking of replacing it on my new 300 gallon tank with 3 x Radion XR30w Gen3. I also want to reduce the 4 Metal halides from 2 175 and 2 250s down to 2 of one or the other. Mt tank is 30" wide and 96" long. Marine Depot said I should be fine with3 if I buy the wide angle attachments but I thought I would ping people here and see what you thought...This is a new 300 to replace my old. We plan on having mostly SPS. KI want to keep a couple metal halides because I just don't see the shimmer I like in LEDs. We plan on having two big islands so each MH would sit over it

Thoughts? Will 3 be enough with say 2 x 250 MHs?

I have yet to have anyone chime in for me, I'm so lost... I bought 4 SPS frags from a LFS under Radion G2's at 100% intensity, however they were about 4' down from the lights... if not a little more... I have a G3 PRO at 45% on an RMS... The frags are about 8" below water line... I am getting color loss, and some browning/whitening on various frags.... Not sure whether to increase or decrease intensity.

I am using Radiant Color from 12pm to 12am.

Thanks

I would move your Question to the SPS forum. I really doubt that its the lights. Im not sure what settings are for the Radiant Color. I would start increasing the over all intensity a little every week.

Any update on Profilux compatibility?
