Through the Looking Glass

Sometimes you just discover new ways to explore your tank. These are top down photos of my tank and they give you an "Alice in Wonderland" view of my corals from the top down.

Just gorgeous!! My tank is nowhere near as beautiful as this, but even I got lost in it one day when I decided to look down through the top

Beautiful corals. I'd love to see a fts. Must have grown these out for a few years to have so many gorgeous colonies.

Thanks for the compliments. My tank crashed in 2011 (like everything in it croaked) so this is not quite two years of growth. I think i started over in the summer of 2011. Things are going pretty well though. Prior to my crash, the tank was also pretty happy but I made some rookie mistakes (even though I am not a rookie) and then made more mistakes trying to correct those mistakes and it became a very ugly and rapid downhill spiral. From now on slow and steady--atleast that is what I hope. I will try and get a full tank shot up this afternoon.

I never really like any of my full tank shots. The tank is 6 feet wide and it seems everything comes out so tiny and empty. Anyway, here are two pictures taken yesterday, a full tank shot followed by a 1/2 tank shot or so which I find much more exciting.

Holy SPS batman! The tank looks amazing, what are your plans as everything starts to grow out since it looks to be pretty crowded already?

this is a wild colony and the color is pretty but i just love the shape

This was supposed to be somewhere over the rainbow (I actually got two colonies from the guy which have turned out to be different from each other) but I am pretty sure it just is not--oh well. It is still pretty and bright.

vivid's tri-color prostrata (It broke and so the base and the branch are separate but both growing well--just a little time and they will once again be one)

This is my really wild orange polyped beauty

What was the cause of the crash?
