water level keeps decreasing in overflow box

I have a herbie overflow box and water level in the overflow box has been steady for a few months. Since last week, I'm noticing that the water level in the overflow box is slowly decreasing and I have to keep adjusting it with the gate valve.

Nothing clogging the overflow box teeth and all the drain pipes in the overflow box are slip / slip, pushed in, nothing loose.

Any idea what could be causing the water level in the box to consistently go down?

Thought it might be return clogged or herbie acting up but it's just weird that the water level is consistently slowly going back down, even after raising it with the gate valve. Water level in the sump hasn't changed either. hmm...

Pump flow being restricted, DC pump acting funny or your main full syphon is loosing syphon at times.
