If the 130 ends up being $200 I will definitely order one. It's quite the discount, so let's see what happens.

That is an amazing price for sure. They've reached 2,000 likes. It's time to put that puppy on sale!

Can't decide if I should go with the 130 or the 150. I have a 75g tank and I'm sure a 130 would be enough but I always like to oversize my skimmers.

I would go with the 150... they seem to use the same pump but with different wattages and air draw numbers. The bigger body of the 150 though will mean you have a larger reaction chamber and longer more thorough contact time.

I like your thinking but I've read that the 150 pump as impeller problems. I wonder if the 130 would have less problems?

The impeller problems were fixed and I wouldn't expect anything selling now from a high volume seller like BRS to have the old impellers.

Oooh. About to pull the trigger on this after getting the BRS email this morning. I'm setting up a 40G with 20 sump and have been looking into skimmers but thought these were way above my range but now...... debating between the 130 and 150. Any thoughts? Might potentially upsize the tank at a mich mater date so its a consideration, but not a huge one. Thanks!

Edit: N/M. Just bought the 130. Let's see what happens!

Vertex rates their skimmers very conservatively. The 130 is rated for up to 100 gallons heavily stocked and in my experience they mean HEAVILY stocked. So the 130 should be great for the 40 to 90 gallon tanks. I wouldn't use the 150 on anything smaller than a 60 gallon personally. But I've heard of people running the 150 on systems as large as 300 to 400 gallons and being happy with them

AC pumps are pretty known quantities. I would generally go with the wattage these pumps are using as a more accurate reflection of actual filtering capacity than unverified gallon and draw numbers.

Bought the 150 this morning. Great price so couldn't pass it up. I was considering going with the Bubble Magus Curve 7 or the SSA version but at this price it seemed to be a no brainer. The AquaMaxx was another one I was considering or one of the DCS RO's, probably the 170.

I've got a 60 gallon with a 20 gallon sump for about 60 total gallons of actual water. It's lightly stocked. I'd heard from Jeremy and premium aquatics and Jen at pro line that the 150 would probably be an inconsistent skimmer for my tank. I've been waiting on the 130 and just ordered it last night!

My Omega 150 seems inconsistent on my 125 to show how much these skimmers can pull.

I also have 16 fish.

Good deal. I'm at 8" with my nwb110 so if I need to raise it an inch, not a big deal.
Thanks

I doubt you'll need to raise it. The sweet spot on the 150 is 8-8.5"

Pulled the trigger on one of the 130's as well! I previously owned a vertex alpha 200 and I really liked the quality. I wonder how quiet the omega's pump compares to the red dragon from the alpha?

Nice! I think it's a newer Sicce, right? I have a Sicce return pump and I've used Tunze Hydrofoamers (almost exactly the same) before and they're very quiet pumps. I don't think anything is as quiet as a Red Dragon, but those are tough shoes to fill.

Yeah I kind of thought so since just the red dragon pump alone is more expensive that the whole omega skimmer with pump. Either way I can't wait to check it out
