Here's the inside of the LEDZeal, after removing the access panel on the top.

Kevin will send you some instructions, but make sure you're grounded so you don't zap a board with static. Unscrew the screws on the connections and then the mounting screws.

You don't need the connectors at each end of the light, so the endplates can be removed along with the wiring and replaced with the solid versions supplied. (Be careful cutting the zip ties and replace them so that you don't get an annoying rattling when the fans come on).

The RF board to the left is redundant, it can be removed. (I left mine as the screws were nylon and threadlocked in place).

Here's the new board installed:

NOTE: Follow Kevin's instructions on the fan sockets, I noticed I had plugged them in the wrong sockets after this photo!

Once it's all done, checked and buttoned back up, power up, scan for wifi networks and connect to "Wifi Socket". You can then use the app which will auto-find all LEDZeals on the network.

Of course you'll want to connect to your existing wifi network and secure it, so theres is a small webserver on the board which has a network config menu so that you can plug in your wifi network details (http://192.168.1.100 from a browser). If you send me your email address, I'll send the config guide.

Cheers

Rob
Installed the board the apps slick i only have one problem now channel 4 is at 100% all times it wont dim or turn off unless i unplug the unit i emailed kevin to see what it could be i unpluged the wires from the board to verifiy and they turned off but once I connect them its a hundred percent all the time no matter how I set it even in manual on the app setting the light on a digital timer till I can get this figured out I hate to put in all the stuff I just took out that would suck let's see what kevin can come up with

Well got the new board on Friday installed it and same problem. I think they're sending me aboard for a smaller light after inspecting both boards which did not work the little drivers look fried. I emailed kevin again I guess this wifi is not for me work on getting a refund or something let's see what happens at this point I'm just really disappointed everything was installed perfect and correct and verified with kevin engineers now I have the old board and controller reinstalled and the light works perfect

That's bad news mate. Not sure what went wrong as your board was completely different to mine. Hopefully you're back up and running again.?

Well had a replacement board sent to me by kevin and minutes after installing channel 4 got stuck on again so I was back in contact with him I was refunded and had to install my old board and the two boards that fried we're actually burnt at the board and they were perfect when I installed them I sent pictures back and forth and Kevin verified with their technician that I installed it correctly and for some reason it just wouldn't work sucks cuz I really wanted the app lol at least it was easy to put in and take out

That sucks, I've been having a few teething issues with mine, the main issue was traced to the wifi board which was replaced. Unforunately, DHL "repackaged" it in nice statically charged polystyrene....

Kevin sent out a new board and it works fine. It does have a hissy fit sometimes if there is a power outage, but other than that it works well.

I feel that the wired or wireless controller version is still the bullet proof way to contoll the unit, although the app is nice.

Hi All,

So I've just given my tank a proper stocking of SPS (acro's, stilo's, monti's) with both frags and colonies. I have the LEDZeal on 67% on the blue and royal blue channels with white building up. (I had to do some Dinoflagellate control so was on blues only following a blackout).

What are you running for light demanding SPS? I'm running a 2ft deep tank.

Thanks

Rob

I'll check my settings and post my schedule and my layout when I get home I wouldn't run the whites at 100 percent that might fry some Coral how high are your lights from the water

First corals are 20 cm below the water surface...the other 60cm. I'll put down white to 90%

Directly from LEDZeal - they have email, messenger and phone numbers on their site.

All my interactions were over email. It's worth reaching out to them as they know their lighting systems and give valuable advice on configuration prior to ordering.
