Neat thread. I'm running LDD-700s on my tank right now. I'm glad to know I can consolidate color channels onto one pin.

An XPG3 S4 puts out 250.8 lm at 500mA and 452.9 lm at 1000mA. When you run the 1000mA at 50% you get 452.9 lm for 50% of the time. When you run the 500mA at 100% you get 250.8 all the time. So a bit more light. Also a bit less power - 2.854W compared with 2.981W. So more light for less power and therefore less heat means the 500mA would actually perform better than these figures in comparison with the 1000mA. But not a massive difference overall - I bet the 500mA at 100% puts out about 15% more light, all else being equal, in comparison with the same LED at 50% on 1000mA. Tim |

So I wonder if I should order 600 ma drivers? I would think my corals would be use to the stronger lighting by now. I don't have any bleaching issues so I'm not so sure it is a lighting issue.
Thanks Jeff |

fwiw, this doesn't work for me. The LEDs flash on, then cut off. Using 3A diodes.

Here's my latest design. This one utilizes the ESP8266 WiFi chip instead of the BlueFish Mini. It's got 8 channels instead of 6 and the fan controller has been integrated directly into the main PcB. The PcB measures 100mm X 150mm.
Bare PcB- All SMD components soldered- All through hole components soldered with a few of the plugin components installed for testing-

Looking good!
The antenna surrounded by all of those wires is going to suffer in range. Maybe next revision move it off the end of the board? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LOL- I've tested the Wifi capabilities already. This ESP maintains a good connection to my router from 75' out and with two interior walls in between.

Does anyone have any code for the ESP8266 chip and controlling a full day cycle? I'm just starting to play with one and could use a good starting point for the code.

May have fried my ardurino board?
I am needing some advise. I had a string of leds out and I was unplugging ldd's in and out to see which one was out. I missed the pins on one of the ldd when plugging it back in and was plugged in one pin lower then it should have been. All my lights went out and my monitor screen went blank. I cant get it to come back on other then a quick flash on the monitor then black. What do you think, did I fry the ardurino board?
thanks Jeff |

Probably! If you did what I think you mean, that would have had one of the +ve in pins connected to the +ve in and one connected to the PWM signal from the arduino. That would kill the pin if not the whole arduino, I would expect!

I am trying to get a replacement control board programmed by someone local in our club but was wondering if I cant get it programmed would anyone on this thread be willing to program it for me. I have read through the manual and just cant get my brain wrapped around it. I need instructions for dummies if anyone knows where I can find them that would also be great. Does the programmer still give out passwords from a donation? I bought my original board already programmed.
My new board will light up and the old board will not so I am pretty sure it is fried. thanks jeff |

I am trying to load jarduino 1.2 beta with arduino 1.6.11 My computer will not recognize the arduino board. Tried another computer of a club members and it wouldnt work on his either yet his computer works with his arduino board which is already programmed. He has my arduino board now trying to download the program for me. I just get red lights on the board when I plug it into the usb port of my computer. I have ordered another board, real time clock board and touch screen.
thanks Jeff |

Why does this thread come up as unread posts but the "new" post is not readable? Or is it just me?
