i was planning a new tank when i went over to see this master piece. i was planning an 8ft long 240. that was changed to a 300 and if i could go bigger i would. the depth of the tank is what grabbed me. its amazing to see a tank that deep. i went from 24" deep to 30" deep. and i wish i could build it 48" deep. but my dining room cant handle a tank that size. ther wouldnt be anywhere to put the table. lol

Spazz- maybe you could just put a piece of plywood over it when you go to eat! Then you won't need a table.

the wife said we could get rid of the dinning room table and just get chairs for the island in the kitchen. but then our backs would be to the tank. before i took the 180 down, it was a fight to see who got the chair that faced the tank. now its all gone in preperation for the new 300g nano. i have all my prized corals in a custom 120g tank down stairs. so ther wont be any more fighting over who sits in that chair for a while.
i know energy gets back here from time to time so here is a pic of my new 120 nano. its funny every tank is a nano to him now. his sump is twice as big as my main tank. lol

you file off the barb on the ends of the scwd, and they slide into 3/4" to 1/2"" pvc reducers. then i glued them in with weldon 40.

Eric, they don't play for me at all, nor for Bob (fishman). I'm assuming the files are mangled. Did they ever run for you when you viewed them from my site?

Are you still planning to use a coast to coast style overflowon your 300? I'm interested in doing the same on my future tank but I havent found much information on it.
Thanks Yetiman

yep i love the coast to coast. it improves the overall flow to the tank. i have my closed loop running through the coast to coast too. i feed the skimmer off the over flow box for better skimming. you can feed alot of equiptment off the overflows if designed right. skimmers, chillers, media reactors, closed loops, ect... i try to gravity feed as much as posiable so i can spend more on lights and water quality.
the 300 will have alot of the same fetures of this tank along with a few new ones. i will start a new thread detailing these new fetures when i start building the tank. look fir it in the next couple of months.

epoxy resin

Energy,

Awesome tank, and thanks for sharing. I wonder if you remember the brand of epoxy resin that you used for your rock works.
I went to HD and they have 20+ different kinds. It would be nice if you could help me with this issue.
Thanks again

Man, that tank must be unbelievable in person. Eric, those videos worked for me where the ones you uploaded in the past did not. Glad I finally got to see them.

I love the stingray. And all the SPS! I bet the worst part is removing a coral you wish never was put in the tank, that ends up being invasive.

Aquamend is the epoxy most people use from Home Depot. It is most commonly used for attaching frags to live rock, but it can be used to secure rockwork. It only comes in smallish tubes.

http://polymericsystems.com/aquamend.htm

I have seen some folks using apoxie sculpt.
