Aqua Illumination Nano

Hey everybody, I am planning on starting up a second tank(have a 120g) and plan on doing a nano. I want to do somewhere between a 12"-18" cube, but am undecided ATM.

Anyways I want to make sure that I buy lights that will allow me to keep any corals that I want to. I have been researching LED lights and everyones got a different opinion. So my question is if I use the aqua illumination nano lights, will that be sufficient for SPS... AND will the lights make my corals look as nice as my T5's do right now?

http://www.aquaillumination.com/nano/

Thanks,
Turner

I have one over a 24x24x12 frag tank. It is not the brightest light, but it gives out good par numbers. Some of my SPS are doing well under it, some are not. I don't know if that is due to the light or some other factor though.

check out the pictures of reef_builders of the light. For flourescence I think it is excellent. Some people think it is a little too blue. I love it. Any questions, just shout.

I saw one over a 18x14x12 frag cube. Lps and softies Colors are off the charts. Light color adjustable for basically 20k to 6.5k. Not too many sps were in the tank but what was there were good looking but zoas and lps were off the charts as far as colors. I ordered one based on this for cube 18x18x16. I used to keep sps and will probably try a few easier types. Not too sure if leds are capable of keeping sps at their upmost potential like t5 or MH lights. Jury still out there. I wont start my tank till march time frame so i wont be able to tell you if i have success with sps till much later in the year.

I spoke with both Fragtasticreef and MarineTechStore yesterday and they both said they currently have them in stock. Not sure how big of a rush you are in to get it. I had originally ordered from Aquarium Specialty believing it was in stock, but cancelled after hearing it was on back order for 2-3 weeks.

If you want to keep SPS I'd say you need more light than the Nano, look into the full blown AI SOL.

Will LED's grow happy, healthy, colorful corals?? Absolutely:
