Sump Design for Cube

So I decided to make my own sump out of acrylic instead of having one a custom one built by Trigger Systems. They quoted me 380 and that is just beyond my limit. I researched on how to glue acrylic and I'm willing to take the plunge to make my own.

I drew up a rough scetch on Paint to get the measurements I wanted and then went from there on to make a 3D model. I used Google ScetchUp 8 to make this 3D model.

Let me know what you guys think.
If you guys have any suggestions, feel free to chime in.

This build is for a 60 gallon cube "24x24x24"

Question

You guys think it is a good idea to have all the panels and baffles black and have the front be clear?

Since I want a refugium, i dont want light to spread through all the chambers and cause algae to grow everywhere.

Have you started pricing out acrylic? Not to deter you, but acrylic, weld-on, acrylic tools, etc... You're probably at their price if not higher. You'll probably need 3/4 of a sheet, 3/8ths thick at least (1/2" would be better), putting you at ~$225-275 and that's without a brace.

That being said, mine is bigger than that one, but here it is:
