That's a great point. I do love my corals, I'm just green with envy. It's really awesome to see what else is out there.

Post the price they paid beside each and your jealousy will be reduced, lol
Of course if they got them for free we will cry for sure. |

They are all opened up nicely, that was just to move them to shoot them for stocktake. They didn't like opening up in the photo tanks! Put them back into the holding tanks and they were fully inflated again within five minutes…

Perhaps I will once I get a chance I'm in the process of moving my holding facilities to a larger premises so once that's out of the way I shall.
As a sidenote, the more eagle-eyed might have noticed my yellow Bubble featured on a certain reefkeeping news site today…

Pectinia Info/Update.....
Hi there. Thanks for the compliment. I'm rather fond of this piece too. I'll start (or add to) a Pectinia thread. I've had this piece for about 2 months now and it seems to be happy and thriving (knock on wood). I have this piece located underneath an overhang/cliff in the display; sheltering it from any direct form of light. I learned the hard way that they do not like even what I consider low lighting.
From the limited research that I have done; it's to my understanding that the sweepers/tentacles of the mouth can become exceptionally far reaching and sting its surroundings at night. I haven't witnessed this yet. I have seen it puff out rather large (approx. 1/2 inch above its skeleton) and open its mouths to eat morsels of food (cyclopeeze and pellets) at night. Very cool to watch. The first one I had was "Heart" shaped and had peach centers and darker green surrounding the mouths/centers. I have no problems sharing with you that I officially burnt it and it started peeling something fierce. Pectinias do NOT like strong lighting (or at least being under my LED lights) even if it is at the bottom side of the display (what I considered low lighting); away from direct focused lighting. As my first pectinia deteriorated and peeled; I put it in an alternate setup and I'm glad to say it has nearly fully recovered This was several months ago. I'll post pictures of that on the thread as well. I hope this helps. Thanks for your interest. |

Just picked up this metallic green folded brain.
It looks so much better under my lighting than I anticipated. I couldn't be happier! |
