Unable to connect Profilux 4 through wifi

iMac OSSierra 10.12.16.
Parallels 11
Windows 7.

GCC v 1.1.0.0
P4 fw 7.05

Finally able to connect P4 via usb , but still unable to connect by wifi, GHL apps, etc.

i'm told that P4 fw is too old to use wifi?

Can't find clear instructions on upgrading firmware with the software I have.
Online video for upgrading firmware does not use same software that i have.

Please help.

I'm so frustrated and annoyed that it is so difficult to connect device to computer or wifi!
Not very user friendly and a waste of valuable time researching and troubleshooting.

I'm so used to the friendly UI of Apple and AI, not to mention native Mac OS software .
I suspect Apex is easier to set up as well.

Alas, I do appreciate GHL reliability and quality.

Have you followed the one video that ghl made on how to connect using static ip? I was having trouble with it as well, but finally got it connected. I think restarting the profilux and disconnecting from gcc using usb finally did it for me.

I did not update the wifi fw until after I had connected via wifi to gcc and myghl. So that part about needing the newer wifi fw isn't true. (Or wasn't for me) I did have to upgrade the wifi fw before connecting to the new app ghl connect.

It ended up taking me a couple hours to get connected on all fronts. Eventually it worked and was so worth it, but it was frustrating.

Just re-read your post. Im not sure about the p4 fw needimg to be updated? Mine just said it was up to date when I looked in gcc, so I didn't worry about it. Sorry can't be more help atm.

i wonder if using parallels is giving me these problems?
would it be smoother if i just used a pc?

I am using parallels without an issue.
Just follow the video online and you should be able to.
Be sure you download the drivers needed

You need to update the fw by connecting to gcc with usb. There's a video online that takes you step by step on how to do this.

unfortunately,I can’t find where to download the fw on the ghl website.
also the online video doesn’t help as it seems to be using software I don’t recognize.

You are using ProfiLux Control, which is the wrong software. As noted in the description for this download, ProfiLux Control is for P2 and P3 which are running an older FW, it is NOT for the P4 controller.

Download GHL Control Center:
https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/dow...nter-v1-1-0-3/

GCC is what is used in the video and what you need to get everything setup.

No change unfortunately.
The software looks exactly the same as before.

Please post screenshots of the software you are using. GHL Control Center looks very different from ProfiLux Control.

Did you download and use GCC version 1103? (In the link above)
You can connect via USB without a problem?
At what point during the FW update do you get stuck?
