Octopus signs

Hey,

What are some tell-tale signs of an octopus hitchhiker living in my tank?

I'm trying to narrow down the culprits to an issue I'm having.

It's not the tank parameters (I check every morning and do 25% water change every week religiously).

It's not the other fish (all my fish are friendly)

It's not lack of food, or over feeding (I hand feed everything in the tank and only enough to eat in 1 minute).
