Well, here's what I was thinking - I had to work fast, as my daughter was having a fit about me taking a photo of her beloved bass. (that I bought)

Not quite parallel - but close enough for government standards.

What kind of bass is that? Looks like ibanez sr or a Warwick.

Edit: Wow, if anyone actually read that, please ignore it. I apparently have acronym dyslexia today (saw the pickups and in my head thought it read ESP, lol). Either way, my Explorer does have EMG-81s. That one looks like a Schecter Stiletto Studio-5 to me.

(Note: the little one in this picture is much cuter than I am)

Yep - she has 2 schecter's - a 4 string and the 5 mentioned above

I'll keep from doing the shameless plug of her band playing

The finish on the 4 string is strikingly familiar.

She has an Ibanez too - I don't think she's used it for years, think it needs re-fretted (if that's a word).

They call the finish Dark Cherry - but that could be the color. You'll need to send some pics of the speakers when their done...I'd like to see them. I assume these are for the home?

Pommele is a grain structure unique to certain woods and most common in Sapele. I was going to suggest exactly the same thing. Sapele Pomelle. Gorgeous base!

Im sorry Ive been so absent in the recent contests! I have been checking in and enjoying the submissions. Hopefully after the new year ill be able to dust off the Nikon and join in once again

There are some really cool entries on stuff that I would have not of thought of for 'parallel lines'...and not one single rail road track.

The Candy Canes pic was probably the most unique, in the lines of the theme (and even touched on some holiday spirit). Doug's got my vote...nice late entry.

EDIT: Jesse - just asking, do you still have the box that Volvo came in?

Thanks Joey. April had her light box out taking some pics and I was like "ooo don't put that away yet."

In light of the season. Let's do "kids" (one or many)

Common phase due to the fact that many Volvo's indeed, look like boxes.

Bad humor - I know...

Nah, you don't want to race me...

I'm a fan of fast grocery getters though. E55 AMG wagon - CTS-V wagon, etc. Back in the day, the 850's 15 second quarter was on the quicker side of cars available, and a heck of a sleeper. Having one for 300K speaks well towards it's reliability. I'm happy you posted the wagon pic...as it makes the box comment funnier

Speaking of sleepers, my old '92 Eclipse GSX (turbo, AWD) was one hell of a sleeper at the track. I can't tell you how many times I'd line up with somebody in a C5 or a Viper that wound up getting a good look at my taillights. The car ran 11's, which I still consider very respectable given what was under the hood.

We stop in whenever it's at Oakmont. It's just down the road from us.
