Where can you get syringes?

I have majanos. I have had one for a long time and it was cute, but all of a sudden I have three and it is time to go bye-bye.

So where can I get a syringe to nuke them with some kalk? Walgreens (and I assume other drug stores) requires proof of medication or a prescription.

I have tried the kalk paste, but it just washes away too quick. I need to inject them. Thanks!

If you're talking about a hypodermic needle, I don't think it will work. I've tried it with some disposable hypos I had from my grandmother's insulin. Aiptasia can feel metal coming from a mile away and retract impossibly fast, even when you go for the stalk. Not sure if the same goes for majanos. Make sure to turn off the flow before using the kalk paste, and just use an extra 5ml syringe from a Salifert test kit. Then as soon as it starts regrowing tenticles (2-4 days), hit it again. You can also try syphoning the majano off a couple of hours after you nuke it.

Another note, majanos aren't as sucessful at pedal laceration as aiptasia. I sucessfully removed one by just yanking it out with tweesers. Nothing ever regrew.

CNN did a drug abuse story and mentioned how easy it was to order syringes online without a prescription....

Feed stores come to mind. You can buy all the supplies you need to vaccinate dogs and cats, including syringes. Back when I had a small zoo and did all my animal vaccinations, you could get the medicine and syringe for like $4. (vs $65 at the vet)

I get mine at a feed store for less than $1. There are many sizes so cost varies but still cheap. I've successfully used the kalk n syringe method to "nuke" a few majanos in my time. Always a good weapon to have on the table even if only as a deterent to other irrepressible countries...er I mean invasive species.

I'll be going to get a few more in the near future. If you can't find any,I could mail a few down your way.

I got one from a CVS Pharmacy. just told them what it was for. It was only $0.25.

I would try a couple of other pharmacies if that one is a problem, my experience is that they are willing to help if you tell them what its for... Assuming you don't look like a Meth-Head, LOL!

Good luck!

as long as your not a teenage guy (me) it should be easy. Even tho my firends mom has 1000's and dumps them or gives them to me (she had something bad forgot the name and does not need them anymore) i used a sharp turkey baster lol. With an injector made of metal it worked good.

You should be able to get them at a feed store or through any veterinary catalog. There is nothing illegal about buying syringes in the state of Arizona but some drug store chains have a policy against it. There are plenty of perfectly legit reasons to need a syringe and even if your purposes were for illegal drug use, it is safer to be able to access legal, sterile syringes than it is to share. Consequently in is to the taxpayers advantage to not have such items be illegal. After all, it's us taxpayers who end up footing the health care bills both for indigents and people in jails.
