I keep my values in the following ranges
Alk: 7-8 °dKH Ca: 440-460 mg/l Mg: 1300-1350 mg/l NO3: 0,2-2 mg/l (have to dose Ammonium nitrate to keep it up, DSB eats it up) PO4: 0,0-0,03 mg/l I will try to provide a full tank shot during the next days when i am back home again, currently on a biz trip. I just restructured the tank last weekend due to some ricordea taking over in the right part of the tank. So currently the full tank shot will probably look not too good. Best regards Thomas |

Full tank shot, due to use of smartphone and recent restructuring does look not very good, LED lighting causes some colour balance problems with the smart phone JPG

The tank exists since 2006. But I had to break it down twice due to moving. Also had a major problem with the tank in 2015/2016 due to changes to city water which I used from the tap. I bought a reverse osmosis unit in January and currently rebuild the tank.

Two short actual videos from the tank. Currently I have to dose nitrate and phosphate to keep my levels in the detectable range. Since i started doing that growth of the sps started to accelerate significantly.

Another update after quite some time.
The tank got moved to our new house. The placement of the new tank became quite a challenge due to a very special floor construction of fine granulate, wood fiber, fermacell and on top the hardwood floor. The floor proved to have a rather low mechanical load capacity, so it was necessary to cut out the floor from underneath the tank an place the tank directly on a 21mm wooden plate on top of the fine granulate. This worked perfectly fine and the tank is stable and perfectly level without subsidence after filling |

I decided to order a custom made cabinet panel fitting the rest of our living room. It was build by a local cabinetmaker and fits perfectly to the tank. The whole cabinet is modular and can be opened or removed on all sides.
I really like the look of the new cabinet, water is a little bit cloudy due to recent cleaning of the tank |

I’m tagging along. Is it common to build an aquarium stand out of extruded aluminum in Germany? I’ve seen this only a few times. How did you determine sizing of the supports?

It is relatively common to usw extruded aluminium, the material is used frequently by German manufacturers of machines and is cheap, sturdy and flexible to use. Sizing is determined seither by using technical calculations (minimize bend and flex below 0,5 mm) vor by "guessing". I calculated my stand and used bigger dimensions AS absolutely needed.
