Saw the one on DD for $280 sold. Seems crazy to me to pay double the price of the same fish on regular LA. Same warranty and these aren't hard to get eating.

For the fish and I Saturday was a sad day moving to Austin. But knowing the fish was going to a great reefer made me feel a little better.

Welp! Our little guy arrived today! He was delayed due to a storm in Kentucky, then they said they'd deliver him tomorrow. I called and asked if I could come get him, and they said he was buried in 1000s of packages. Hoped for the best and left, on my way out the door, UPS shows up with my package (obviously NOT buried.)!

So here he is. Looks very healthy, and has a few misbars on him, but I think it's because he's so young. I hope he keeps one of them though!

Anyway, he's into his first day of TTM now, so we'll see how he fares!

If I had to guess - i'd say 3" - maybe 3.5" at best! He's got misbars on both sides, but the other side just looks like the line is not complete yet.

Oh wow that's great! I was worried because on the website it says 1.5"-2.25" and those are pretty small. 3" is great!! Hmm.. I'm probably going to pull the trigger

Thanks!

I got another in yesterday. Looks pretty fat. Hasn't eaten yet though. The others I have got from LA all are the day after delivery. Hopefully this one won't go on too long of a hunger strike.

Got mine late today so I only have 30 min to get him in HT. I decided to set up a HT for him. Got salinity to 25 ppt. I was prepared to low it to 20 ppt if need to match shipping salinity by adding RO water standing by. Even calculated the exact amount needed.
On arrival salinity is at 25 ppt so I did not need to adjust the HT salinity. I will increase the salinity by doing large NS water change over the next 24-48 hrs. Once I got salinity up to 35 ppt i will put him in my QT system. Mine is 2 inches, still with false eye spot, pictured in HT below
BTW I also got two abalones from LA. Their salinity is spot on 35 ppt.

I think mine might have picked at the clam I left in the QT while I was at dinner. Pretty sure the shell is moved and it looks like some is missing. I need to get it eating really well before it goes in he display because I'm sure my other one will give him some trouble at first. The one I have in the display now is definitely not shy.

I have to brag like a proud papa here. My little guy at Mysis earlier, then ate some flakes! And finally - ate a New Life Spectrum pellet!

Congrats, and to all others. Have fun raising the most beautiful fish we can have in our tanks.

Over the last days, I decreased the salinity of my QT system to 32 ppt and slowly increased the salinity of the HT to 31 ppt. I transferred my Regal to the QT system this AM. Yesterday PM, he eat 1 mysis in HT. Will try to feed them this AM before work.

UncleSalt and alton,
You guys have very nice misbared. Of the 4 Regals I have at this time only one is misbared. I like the coloration of the mature blue chest better than the yellow chested ones. Now I have 2 of each. One of my yellow chest was from the Red Sea and the other from Indian Ocean.
Alton infected me with Regal Disease and I love to be infected with this disease.

Mine's still chilling and waiting! Still eating NLS pellets, Mysis, and some algae flakes. Cruises the tank and sits near his PVC pipe. Seems to be doing good. Tomorrow gets his first move into the next tank for his TTM!

I did by some air tubing, but not an airstone......didn't realize the tubing floats! So I have to find a way to keep it down in the water!

I zip tie it to a piece of rock rubble.I don't use an airstone either.

Mine is starting to eat better today. Picked at a fresh mussel, clam, and ate a few mysis. Not aggressively yet but I'm sure that will come over the next few days. These maldives ones seem pretty bulletproof.

Got mine in my QT reef. He is doing fine. Ate some flakes and Mysis yesterday AM and PM. I then went out of town yesterday and only got back just now. Will feed him again several times tomorrow.
