Tunze makes GREAT pumps! I would have no issues or concerns running that pump on one of my systems.

Anyone know who the OEM is? Pump looks identical to the Sicce Syncra.

Certainly looks the same. Wouldn't that make it an AC pump? Confess I haven't entirely taken the time to understand what differentiates a DC from an AC pump ...... but as I understand it the actual pump is the same, the 'magic' is in the controller.

I believe Sicce may be potting the motor block but the rotor, impeller, and all electronics are Tunze. Might need to verify. IME, the Sicce is louder and vibrates more. Aslo Sicce doesn't offer a low voltage DC version of this motor block.

I dunno, but it’s fully controllable with the included control box. The older versions had 12v and 24v jumpers to adjust flow rates across two different ranges. Don’t really know what that means but I’m stickin’ to my story!

By changing the voltage down to 12v, the pump will do even less flow. Its a just another way of tailoring the pump to your needs.

I haven’t checked yet how far I could turn it down. The specs say between 211gph to 792gph, but would it even fit in the back chambers of an IM25 AIO tank?

Remember at 6' you will only get about 400gph tops on high.

For a nano or small tank? I think its perfect.

Well, I ended up getting the Tunze.

To be honest, it was a tossup and everyone made good points, but you know what threw it? The fact that Jebao actually states "no copper parts". If chipotle had a menu listing that said "made with absolutely no benzene", oddly enough it would not make me more inclined to eat there.

Anyway, the Tunze arrived this morning and it seems to be working quite nicely. I suspect that either option would have worked, and I am $100 poorer, but that's OK.

Agreed. The Jaebo and other Chinese DC pumps are garbage. Every one I’ve had failed within 6 months. And good luck trying to get service or a replacement. I haven’t owned a Tunze return pump, but I have a Tunze osmlator that I got used probably 8 years ago. It still works like a champ and I think I replaced the ($20) pump once because the old one got loud.

Similar story with Ecotech Vortech pumps. I have several MP10’s (and MP40’s in the past). They’re 7-8 years old and still work perfectly.

So yeah, I’d skip the Chinese crap unless you like replacing stuff constantly or don’t expect to use your gear very long.

My tank is the IM 25 Nano no rear chamber, so this tank will have a sump, I have one of those IN>Out overflows. The tank is 24 x 20 x 12

Is this for me? If so it has been flawless so far, but it's only been running for a short while. It's considerably quieter than the overflow noise (it's basically silent), uses very little power and has provided no drama of any kind.
