I caught that last fish in less than 5 minutes with a tiny piece of mysis and one of these...

Untitled by nickgrant79, on Flickr

http://www.tenkarabum.com/micro-fishing-hooks.html

The orchid dottyback looks to be doing fine in QT. It was a clean hook. I didn't give him a chance to swallow the hook and caught him right on the upper lip. I added some erythromycin just to be safe.

Easily the smallest fish I've every caught on hook and line.

If anyone needs one of these some day let me know I have plenty

I'll be damn. Never would have thought of that. I could picture my father suggesting it. "Just throw a damn hook in there!"

I would only use it as an option of last resort. I caught all the other fish with either a fish trap or pulling out most of the live rock and cornering with a sheet of acrylic and a net. I tried these traditional methods for over a month with this fish. He was a tricky one.

I know but Beth was too upset with me for even trying it to hold the camera.

I figured it would happen one of these days but I didn't think they would get down and dirty in my crappy QT/hospital tank weeks before I plan to get rid of them?!

Clowns Spawned (terrible Iphone pic)

Clownfish eggs by nickgrant79, on Flickr

If anyone is looking for a breeding pair of captive bred perculas LMK. As soon as they go through this new fangled "tank transfer method" to eliminate any possibility of ick (along with all my other fish), they'll be looking for a new home. I believe they're siblings from the same spawn, if that matters to ya.

Not much new with this tank. Coralvue sent me a new pump for my skimmer. Minor issue with the old one Bubble Blaster 2000, something I intend to fix but its certainly nice to have that 3 year 100% warranty!

I've got about a month before I start adding the fish back.

Thanks Kirk, the clam broke out of "prison" a couple times but I think I have it trapped for good now.
