Measuring Conductivy questions
Morning all,
I am trying to setup a new to me Profilux 3 Ex. I have connected the Conductivity probe and have a few questions. I gave the probe a soak in vinegar and wiped the contacts gentle with a bottle brush. I am getting a reading however it seems way off. Currently it is around 5.2mS Looking at https://www.hamzasreef.com/Contents/...Conversion.php this equates to about 1.0021 sg. The tank is currently at 1.024 sg. I am not sure what all the probe settings should be. Also, I cannot chose the display unit as sg. The only options I have are mS, PSU and kg/l. I am running firmware 637 |

So I managed to get a more accurate reading (I think).
As I didn't have any calibration liquid on hand I simply used my tank water as a 50mS calibration. I know it isn't exact, however I suspect I can now use the value for trending (is it more/less or stable). I will test this tonight by removing the probe and putting in some RODI water - hopefully it drops. I still can't get the display to be in specific gravity - anyone know if this is available in firmware 6.37? |

You should get a 50ms or 53ms solution and calibrate your probe with it.
Be aware to chose the Temp probe for the temperature compensation on the calibration process if you are using the one from profilux. Make sure also to set the right solution temp on the calibration process. Once the calibration done you should get 50ms and then on your tank water arround 53ms if you are aiming 35ppt Concerning the units better to set it as PSU which is the same as PPT unit |
