IM 20 gal Return Pump

Just set up the IM 20 gallon peninsula and the 211 gph return pump is noisy. Anyone replace this pump with a quieter pump?

Thanks.

I bought a Rio 1400 about a month ago and literally just turned it on for the first time. Im a bit disappointed with it. Its very loud. Im going to give it a few days and if its not any quieter, i will be replacing it.

I have the Nuvo IM 24, that has two return pumps. I replaced mine with two Sicce Syncra 1.0's. Perfect replacement and makes zero nosie.

I have a Cobalt MJ 1200 on my IM 20, and it is a good fit, quiet, and sufficient flow.

Another good option I have seen mentioned for this aquarium is the Sicce 1.5, which would give a bit more flow than the MJ 1200 (357ghp vs. 295gph).

I have the IM 30L and replaced my single pump with 2 Sicce Syncra's, no noise at all.

I'm partial to sicce pumps. I have been running them exclusively for years and never have issues. literally the quietest return pumps I have ever owned. On my nuvo 10 I run a sicce micra in exchange for the stock return pump. a 1 or 1.5 would serve you well.
