Hi

Can someone please help with using Ozone and a BK180 mini internal Gen 1. Thers lots of information here but it is old and the images no longer work.

Is it safe to use ozone with this skimmer?
How do I connect it?
Do any parts need replacing?

Ive contacted Royal Exclusiv directly but they are on holiday and out the office till 23rd July.

Thanks in advance

Nav

The skimmer is as "ozone safe" as any skimmer can be. Having said that, I'd never run ozone into that expensive of a skimmer in my opinion. I'd buy an ozone reaction chamber such as what Coralvue sells here:

http://premiumaquatics.com/aquatic-s...OCT-OR150.html

or go with a really cheap / small skimmer that is used for nothing more than injecting ozone into your system.

If you are dead set against using your BK just pull the venturi line off of the silencer and run make a Tee in it and run one of those open lines over to the generator and let it pull through it.

Which size BK cone are you looking at?

You should be able to pretty easily put 200mg/hr into that unit. Keep in mind though that you'll need to build some type of tray or something for the lid of the skimmer to hold some carbon. That way all of the air being released from the skimmer will go through that carbon and scrub off any ozone that is left.

That skimmer is a rockstar, I wouldn't mod a thing.

I owned both the deluxe 250 and the supermarin 250

Thinking about my future build, I am considering another external model. Perhaps the 200 or the 250 external. I am curious though, I would prefer to have the RD 1500 paired with the 200 body and the RD2000 paired with the 250 body as opposed to how the pumps are paired in the traditional external models.

Could I special order the 250 skimmer with the RD 2000 pump, instead of the 1500?

People on here say you can't get 0 nitrates with a sm and only a deluxe.

There is no mod for this, sorry. The wedge pipe works fine on the SM though.

Better yet, you don't even need to special order anything, just swap the impellers. All of the Super Marin and Deluxe skimmers use the exact same motorblock, it's then just the impeller assemblies and venturi that differ between the models. All you would need to do in this scenario is make an impeller swap.

Also, we have the Deluxe's on sale right now, you save $428 on a 200Ext, and $470 on a 250Ext.

We have overstock on our Bubble King Deluxe skimmer line which means you can now save hundreds off the retail price of any Bubble King Deluxe 200, 250, or 300 model skimmer. Both Internal and External models are on sale!

Example:

Deluxe 200 Internal
Regular $1837
Sale $1469
Save $368!!!

Sale is good while supplies last, but don't wait too long, Bubble King Deluxe models have never been offered at this low of a retail price! **Note all skimmers are brand new, and the most current up to date versions!**

Hi!

I've a system with 2000L with a big stock of fish and Coral (SPS, LPS), and my Deltec (3070) needs a little help!

I'm undecided with a BK UM300 or a BK 300 Deluxe.

keeping the Deltec whitch one is better to my system?

Obg

Pedro

So what skimmer would you recommend for a 233 gal tank 50 gal sump? SM 200/250 or BK 200/250 INT?

You're between a 200 and 250 series to be honest. I think out of all of them (Alpha's included here), that the Deluxe might be best for you. The reason being is that you have the taller reaction chamber with it (more efficiency / capacity) and would allow you to stick with a 200 series instead of paying more for the 250.

D'oh! I pulled the trigger and ordered the SM200. Should I return it for the Deluxe when I get it?

For your application since you are in that gray area, I think the Deluxe would be the better fit for you. I like the design of the SM better, but I think for you that the Deluxe is a better fit.

Hi again guys, been putting some ozone through my BK Double Cone and having a bit of a problem
I am running 50mg per/hr and the red stiff airline is corroding after a day or so and disintergrating ?
I thought these were ozone ready out of the box, or am I putting the ozone through the wrong place?

here is a pic to show where I am connecting the ozone
I am connecting to the top of the red airline hose inbetween the water level adjuster pipe and the silencer, and this is the airline that is corroding after a day or so, the silicone airline I am using is fine.

Thx for looking
Trevor
