Can a carpet anemones survive being suck by powerhead

I bought a nice yellow carpet yesterday from a friend it was on a small side than I wanted but being me I bought it anyway.
After 7 hour of turning off all of powerhead and wavebox so the anemones can set its foot it got suck in anyway now is a sashimi.
Now the body is still on one piece but most of the neon tentacles is gone
The anemone still sticks on my hand so I guess thats a good sign but I have to run a carbon and do a 50 gallon water change to make sure it will not create a ill effect on my tank .

Should I just throw the anemone?
Thanks

The water is a little cloudy and I am afraid it released most of it's nematocysts on the water already
What else should I do
I have to go to work in few minutes

damage is done, it will either die or fix itself.. The fact that the foot still sticks to your hand is a good bonus. Your planned actions of carbon + wc are sound. It depends on if you want to take the time to babysit it or not.. I'd say go for it and see how it fares. If not see if someone else wants to try and nurse it back to health before condeming it..

One of my RBTA's survived a couple encounters with the power head in a very short amount of time. The third time was a charm though and it didnt survive its last encounter. Anemones are pretty resliliant. If its not totally dead, it will likely rebound.

You are right Vihn and I am sorry
I shouldn't buy anything out of pity
Cause is a freaking waste of money.
I should be more assertive of what I want.
But saying not to buy live stock is a little to much
Since all of my corals are doing great!

And after today I will not mention death or dying on my tank here ever.

Lawrence, sorry if it came off the way it did. I meant don't buy livestock for the time being.

Just last night, you asked the forum for opinions on what you should do about your tank. You were advised to just tear the tank down and catch that last wrasse since all your fish were dying.

Why would you want to add anything into the tank when the environment is going to be ever changing for the next few weeks/months while you try to sort out your problems? Seems horribly irresponsible IMO.

Its fine what can I say I am a crazy
Some of the corals will not be taken out of my tank
Since I have a plan to catch all the fishes using 2 PVC with window screen and seal off each island at a time.

The PVC divider is a good idea, I've never seen that in my short time on RC!

I hope your anenome gets better, as I'm one who keeps hope if one of my livestock is declining. However, I'd place him into a QT tank so that if it dies, it doesn't further pollute the DT.

Post a picture of the carpet so we can see the damage. Carpets cannot take the trauma a BTA can, so all you can do is hope for the best, keep up the parameters and hopefully it makes a recovery.
