Can I slice mushrooms that are still attached to rock?

Hello to all. Everything I’ve read about fragging Shrooms says to slice them and then attach them to a rock. My question is will it be okay if I slice them while they are still attached to their original rock? Or will the two halves fuse back together? Thanks

You can just cut them where they are. They shouldn't fuse back together (I've never seen it happen).
