WOW Now that's a Bonsai! Great example of why you need to leave room for your coral to grow! It will fill in and look great if u give it the space a time!

Amazing tank. This is aquascaping at its best. It may not be "natural" but it conveys that impression because it allows the eye to go into those crevices, so you feel like you are diving inside a reef.

The example used in the article is actually a 20gal tank: http://www.nano-reef.com/featured/?tank=39
Great reading. Many thanks for that.

Hey Folks, I am very sorry about the delays for replies. But here are recent shots, Changes for the tank are bare bottom, Tek Light T5 and removing/relocate some corals along with trimming. All changes are geared towards a very minimal maintenance tank.

as always the system looks great!!!!! am also one of the hundreds of people that was inspired by this system.

quick question regarding your lighting, how long has it been since you've changed over from MH to T5. What was the initial effect on your SPS?

Thanks guys! I moved to the T5's to play with coloring on the SPS, also thought it would slow growth down but i was wrong. It's been about 2 months now with zero ill effects, I have noticed much more vibrant full colors and so far i am very pleased with the T5's. Bulb combo are Gieseman Actinic/Aquablue/Actinic/ATI Purple Plus/Aquablue/Actinic. The Turbo snails help keep the bottom clean.

This aquarium is a perfect example of the "less is more" approach, and obviously you are very successful in doing so.

Care to give some updates on the maintenance aspect, as well as future plans? Details, we needz 'em!

That large purple/blue colony in the middle is fantastic. Looks like the scape worked out perfectly. Great stuff!

Wow - Beautiful tank and progression! I'm not usually a fan of BB tanks, but yours is stunning - Congrats on a great 34 months.

Wow just when this tank is slowly forgotten, you have reinvented it to a new level. You have a quite a skill there, my friend.

Thanks guys, Not too much future plans for this tank. I always contemplate about tearing it down but then come out with too many reason not to. I will just keep trimming and shaping the structure as if it was a real Bonsai tree hahaha. The current maintenance on this tank are monthly 50g water changes, empty skimmer cup, change filter sock and scrape glass weekly. This is as low maintenance as i can get without any issues.

Neuwave, i have only 1 Apogon left, if i could do it all over again i would have just kept nothing but that.

Great looking tank. Do you dose anything? How do you keep the calcium up?

You could always try again. Your tank is perfect for them. Did they just start to diminish in some way or jump? Reason be is that I got 7 of them right now. All seems well and they eat like crazy. It's been a few weeks and haven't lost any except the original 8th one I started out with jumped ship and found a day later as a fish chip. I could replace that one cause the store has 2 left. But so far so good.
