removing an anemone from a rock?
I just agreed to buy an anemone from another local reefer, but he doesn't think he can get this monster off it's rock. Any advice on how to safetly remove a large anemone from a rock?

A google search reaveled this information
Removing (Moving) Anemones - 09/07/05 I have a forty gallon tank with two clownfish, many xenias, and what started out as one small bubble-tip anemone. Now I have three fairly large anemones from the original one. < Two are attached to a very nice branched piece of live rock. The other one is in a hole in a large piece of live rock. I would hate to break up any of the live rock, but I would like to remove an anemone or two. Is there anyway to safely remove them from their rocks without doing too much damage to my setup or the anemones? <

There is no information there...the person has the same question as me. Maybe you didn't paste the answer in there, just the question. But either way, the anemone has been removed from the rock, I don't know how, and is on the way over right now. Thanks.

I normaly use my thumb to massage the foot untill it finds it unpleasant and loosens it grip then you can slip your thumb nail under the foot and slowly wedge it in seperating the two. works everytime for me.

I peel them off every month. Just use your finger on the foot and just start peeling it up a little at a time it will come loose. If its stuck in a hole where you cant reach the foot then forget it until it moves.
