Have any of you powermodule owners had a sunpower plus reefbrites to compare the look to? I'm on the fence between these two options.
Are the royal blue LEDs pretty strong? |

Personally, I like watching the tank with just the actinics and the Royal blue/violet/ and a little blue. The colour is incredible.

I like it very much. It’s a very crisp white with just a hint of blue. The leds are set to blue plus setting.

I was running a Hydra 52HD with t5 supplements and loved it. But I’m moving and decided to take the opportunity to change it to this to clean up the install and reduce my wire nest lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have Blue plus on the outside and Fiji Purple inside on the outside 4 slots. Its a very clean light in combination with the Royal blue/blue and violet LEDs. I use very little white LED.

I just got a wifi 36" inch 4 bulb unit. It went thru the self test with no problem. It started the light cycle they was a very slight pop and one bank of T5 will not light. I tried different bulbs and it still will not light. Any suggestions?

QUESTIONS!
1. I am liking the light but it's difficult coming from all T5s to know if I am setting it right. I have a PAR meter and it's as strong at the bottom in a few spots as it is at the very top! How do I avoid the real hot spots? I have the outside LEDs 10% lower than the middle to even it out a bit but still getting too much light at the bottom. Running at 40% on the outsides and 50% in the middle. 2. Do I need the white LED, or is the blue and royal blue, with some violet enough spectrum for the corals to grow? I also have 2 ATI Super Blues and 2 Purple Plus T5s during 4.5 hours peak time. My combination for daytime is BLUE:200 ROYAL BLUE:255 VIOLET:150 WHITE:20. 4-T5s @ 100% (stillburning them in. Would like to lower them to 75%) Any suggestions to improve coral health and growth and visual aesthetics?

A few things here. 1: What T5 only light did you have previously? If it is a similar fixture, I would just recommend starting your LEDs very low and slowly ramping them up every week or two so your corals can adjust. If you also changed brands, increased bulb count etc,, I would recommend raising the fixture up a number of inches to reduce intensity. 2: This is strictly a PAR vs Cosmetic question. You likely have tons more par that previously, I wouldn't get too caught up in the "best color for growth" question. Focus on total intensity change (make it slow) and cosmetic appear for your own eyes desire. 3: You do not need to burn in the LEDs only the T5's. I would highly recommend reducing the output down to 20-30% depending on the answers to the questions above. Lamp burn in is critical if this is a dimmable Powermodule (all of them except 60"), make sure you are turning them on and off, not ramping up and down.

Hi Keith
I had a Tek Elite 8-54W bulb fixture. Certainly this fixture is considerably better. PROBLEM! I have to put the outside LEDs at 30% and the middle LED at 50% to have it even. The outside LEDs seem way more powerful than the middle cluster. The result is having low PAR in the Middle top sections where the SPS is and the same PAr readings at the bottom on the sides where I have the LPS. Obviously i want low PAR on the bottom and high on the top but it seems almost the opposite. Note: I have a peninsula tank and all the rock is in the middle. As for a change in light, I just restarted the tank so all corals only had a week or two with the old light so not too worried about the change except for possibly being too strong.
