Some monti pics.
It's not the most beautiful coral but i thought i'd share the photos When it first came in the tank.Glued it on a magnet plug Top down after some months After rescape A bit later But now it started growing and shading other corals so i moved it down. While moving it a big part of it broke on the left And a bad close up

Just read through your thread and so sorry to hear about your Achilles. Our fish are like children and we take it very hard when we lose one of them too. Glad to see the Sohal is doing well for you.
Nice improvement on your aquascape and you have some gorgeous SPS pieces in there. Looking forward to seeing those corals grow as your reef matures.

Sweet Looking forward to the FTS
What are you using to take pics though? I had to buy a DSLR (cheap one), just to get half decent pics of the tanks |

At the moment i use a Nikon Coolpix L25(if i'm not mistaken) It's like going at a F1 race with a bike If i get a DSLR and still get bad pics...then i'm the problem Quote:
I don't know about my tank but the ATI fixture is indeed awesome! I simply love it.I'm kinda stuck to old school as far as the lighting. I tried my luck with leds but didn't work for me. Thanks again! Quote:
At the start, kalk and occasionally some diy powder from a LFS(kh) did the job. I couldn't trust someone else making such an important part of my tank and i chose Fauna. Now i add daily, with two dosing pumps...140ml fauna marine carbonat mix and 40ml of calcium(again fauna). Kh is at 8-8,3 and Ca at 420-430. Quote:
Lol....i'm the worst by far!lol I too, hope that one day we will take photos like sahin or some other guys I have spend hours and hours, looking at their amazing photos! Thanks again!

Good stuff Mike
It seems that the colors have improved! I see you have a similar blue with brown polyps millie/prostrata, that Sahin and me, both seem to have. Hopefully, we all get them to color up even better I really like the pic with the Mandarin. Sometime, we're so engrossed with SPS that we forget about those awesome interactions and scenes. I'm dealing with cyano right now as well, but not too much of it, thankfully. AEFW's are a bigger concern at the moment. |

Really glad you like it! As far as the coral....say no more Quote:
I too hope we all get that millie to color up! It's a nice coral. Couldn't agree more with what you said about the interactions and scenes. I hope we will manage to get rid of cyano. I siphon it every 4-5 days and it is still coming back. Maybe it's the pellets.I read a lot of guys had the same problem. At the moment i'm thinking of using kz's product for cyano. But i prefer cyano to aefw's.... I really hope you will get rid of them Quote:
Glad you like it! Yeah, quasimodo(mystery) is getting reaaaaally fat

Wow, lots of beautiful corals in those latest pics Mike. I love the mandarin nestled on the orange monti mate, great shots.
I hope you don't mind but i noticed most of your pics have the typical blue wash that hides a lot of the colors. Nero photosnap is free i'm sure and all you do is go to color balance red 130, green 105 and blue 70 on all your pics or close to those numbers and i think you'll be pleased with the results. I use PS but photosnap is free and that 5 second procedure makes a big difference i think. Once again mate, just trying to offer a tip i thought you might find handy - feel free to ignore me lol. |

lol lol biggles!!
Thaaaaank so much for fixing the photos! Really glad you liked them. Ignore you??....i'm obliged buddy! You made my day with these three photos I'm worthless-useless with photoshop and correcting photos in general. I just shoot and upload Thank you so much for the tips. I'll download photosnap asap. Those corrections "balance red 130, green 105 and blue 70" are standard in every photo? Sorry if that's a st#$d question! Thanks again!
