Maxspect Gyre housing shrinkage in hot water?

Today I had the *brilliant* idea to take down my Maxspect Gyre XF230 and soak the plastic parts in hot vinegar to really get it good and clean.

I boiled the vinegar in the microwave then dunked the plastic parts. After an hour I took them out and scrubbed all the gunk off...and the "flow cage" wouldn't go back onto the motor! It seemed like the ID of the cage was ever so slightly smaller than it needed to be to accommodate the motor block!

The unit comes with a bunch of spare parts (thanks CoralVue!), so I grabbed a couple spare cages & they went right on like they should.

Anyhow, just a stupid idea on my part; reporting it here in case it helps someone else
