True story, I discovered I had red bugs by posting a close up photo. I never could see them with my eye but a closeup is very revealing.

Beautiful pics, as always though. You're not including the coral names in them though. The Sunny D's I'm pretty sure I can guess right on but is the sps a WWC Yellow Tips?

Yeah, I've gotten lazy. I can batch export the edited pics with the watermark added automatically, rather than me placing it in each individual photo.
Can't do that with the names since each would be different.

Are those sunny d's? Cool. Got a bunch of zoas in a raffle but didn't know what they were. lol

And yes, WWC Yellow Tip.

I'm no zoa identification expert but I would say Sunny D, and a real nice picture of them at that. For the price they are one of my favorites definitely.

I’m curious to hear your opinion of LifeReef sump vs BAO sump. Any reason why you went with BAO over LifeReef this build? I’m trying to decide between the two for my custom sump build and would appreciate your input since you’ve had both.

I needed a custom sump designed specifically for Triton.
BAO is literally down the street from me and I've been happy with their work on past projects.

As you'll see later in this thread, things happened with the tank and I restarted it as a standard Berlin style tank and picked up another LifeReef.

Both are great sumps/companies, just depends on your needs/preferences.

Dennis - do you still run a sponge in the sump? I bought one of these Bubble Magus ARF-1's the other day and am going to modify it to use in my sump. Gonna be interesting.

I considered welcoming the detritus and removing the sponge but decided I'd rather have an active filter in there.

Do you turn your blues off or use a filter?

I set my lights to around 13-14k and adjust as needed in lightroom.

Yep I just run the ones Jeff gave me. I don’t change them very often either, hence the roller mat mod in the works

Those macro shots are great, particularly the picture of the damsel; you can really see how it clearly belongs in the perch family.

I have to agree. Incredible shots. The damsel and the hammer are my favorites

What are the Radion settings to achieve 13-14k? What's your camera WB set at for the shoot and what do you set it to in Lightroom? I always have problems trying to get the right white balance in my reef shots!

I just use the color wheel in Ecosmart Live app on my phone. Just something in that general area, doesn't matter much. I set my camera wb as high is it will go (10k for nikon) and shoot raw. Then when i get to lightroom i'm usually just sliding the wb slider to the right a bit (more yellow).
