I've heard of pairs spawning consistently for 20+ years, so assuming his pair wasn't 20 years old when he got them they should potentially have a long life ahead of them.

Clownfish can live around 10-15 years usually depend on your care. Good care can help them live even longer.

22 is the oldest i know of locally. pair spawning for 18+ years, then the female passed away, the male now becomes the female and continues to spawn with the new male.

I know of a pair of clowns which are more than 30 years old, and they are with a bubble tip anemone which has been in the same LFS for more than 40 years.

Few people realize fish generally live a long time - much longer than dogs or cats. When I set up aquariums for my customers - salt water or fresh - they would often have fish when their children were born, and keep those same fish when their kids went off to college.

I've had fish live more than 35 years (clown loaches). I traded an entire tank of New Guinea & Australian rainbowfish simply because I was bored with the seeing the same fish after 18 years. And I won't even get into how long some cichlids live.

Salt water fish are very long lived as well. Most should live at least 10 - 25 years.

Invertebrates are, for all intents and purposes, immortal.

I know of a pair that have been in captivity 25+ years. They are on their third owner at this point.

Native natural host anemone would be the best for your clownfish. But btas are usually what people use to host their clownfish because they are easier than other host anemones to take care of.

they are basic Ocellaris they are not hosting anything right now. he has had them for 3 years and has had assorted anemone's in the tank with them. I have just started the cycle last night so I have weeks till anything goes in the tank but he will keep them for me and if I decide on something for them to host he will order it and put it with them. he runs his salinity at 1.026 and mine is at 1.025 I am planning on raising it to match. the other parameters are not even near ready but its nice to have a place to get fish that will order and keep them till I am ready. he even comes by to help me learn how to do the upkeep

New tank would be a bad idea for a nem.
Usually beyond 8 months with stable parameters required for long term success.
Clowns fine after cycle, add nem later, but if your going to add corals, I do nem first so until he stops traveling, he does kill the corals...
