No idea what it's called, but I would look in the lighting or ceiling fan sections at Home Depot or Lowes. Just a guess though.

Do you have any heat issues with a 70w lamp on a tank that size? Thanks.

What skimmer is everyone using in the BC29? Are there any skimmers worth the money that will fit in a 12g Nano-Cube?

CHEAP Tunze skimmer cup mod for JBJ 24g
well i got a used Tunze 9002 on RC for 50 bucks. i was hoping to find a modified skimmer cup too on RC since i use the stock hood but i could not find one. New in the tank cup was 35 bucks which was 70% of the skimmer
So…...i decided to get cheap. i did a intank cup for the skimmer which costed me $8. here are the parts:- 1 1/2" X 12 " Plastic Extension Tube from Home Depot $2 Avent 9oz baby bottle $5 Sippy cup lid $1 Plastic container cap (i could find one in the house) Aquarium Silicon (i already had it with me) tools required:- Hacksaw blade 1 1/2 inch hole saw First i cut the Plastic tube to the same length of the tube of the stock skimmer cup with a hacksaw blade. After cutting the top of the Avent bottle (again with the hacksaw blade) i drilled a 1 1/2" hole in the bottom with a hole saw. i then pushed the tube in the bottle to the same lengths as the stock skimmer. i put some aquarium silicon on the joint of the tube and the bottle. for the lid i used a (new) lid from my sons sippy cup and then glued a lid from another plastic container to deflect the skimmate. Here is the pic of it in the scond chamber close up of the in the tank pic. Skimmer and Lid Skimmer with lid i will soon post some more pictures of the skimmate that is produced after the break in period is complete. |

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...t=601201&pp=25 You can do searches for "aquaclear refugium" to see others but they're mostly like this. Aaron Last edited by diver07; 12/02/2009 at 07:19 PM. Reason: wrong link |

Does anyone have a really good do it yourself writeup on how to do an in cabinet refugium on a Biocube 29 HQI?
I have seen a few pics of the fuges in the cabinet under the aquarium, but really want to know where and how to drill the holes.
