skimmer for my system
Hey guys, looking for a bit of advice.
I have a 175 display with plans to add a 60-80 gal frag tank within the next few months. The system has a high bioload and is sps dominate. I am running a trigger systems emerald 39. The skimmer section is 14 x 15.5". Is there ANYWAY I can squeeze a cone 200 in there? I have found the footprint to be 12.5984 wide / 15.748 length listed on line. I must admit I am pretty bummed. I believe this skimmer to be a good fit for the system. It is SO CLOSE! Can anything be done to fit this bad boy? If not, moving forward, which model will be a good fit for the system? Thanks in advance

The dims are: 12.60ʺ wide x 15.75ʺ length You could do one of two things. Put it in your sump at an angle or cut the silicone tube between the skimmer and the pump to shorten it up. I think it would be easy to gain a half in of space given the length of the silicone tube that connects the pump to the skimmer body. I think you could easily get it in there with minimal effort. Worst case, there is always the Mini 200. It has a much smaller footprint. It too is a great skimmer and includes the RD3 pump. Only downside is the pump inside the body which makes for a bit more effort when it comes to routine pump maintenance.
