New crispa or malu

My new nem finally arrived today. I dug a hole in the sand, placed it in, then buried its foot a little bit. I turned down the LEDs to about halfway for now while it adjusts. I also turned off all flow to allow it time to attach. After maybe an hr or so I'll turn the return pump back on followed by one vortech at a time. Also placed the foam guards on my vortechs.

Its mouth was pretty open upon arrival but within minutes of being in the tank it started to tighten back up. It's fairly bleached but that was to be expected. I can see some faint purple on some of the tips though.

Photos were taken after 5min or so.

Congrats, it looks good. I would have put it in the QT for observation for a few days though.

I usually do either qt or dip everything new but in this case I did not. I hope the gamble doesnt come back to bite me. It's been an hr and a half and it's still yet to plant its foot. Came home from getting my boy at school to find it flipped over in the sand. I did turn the return back back on for some flow but vortechs are still off.

Definitely not crispa.
Malu often have rings on tents, being bleached it's hard for me to say for sure, but I actually think it might be aurora

I thought so as well. All the Aurora I have seen have always been drab brown where as this one has some purple in its tents. Once it colors up I'm sure a more positive ID can be made.

I dug a deeper hole and buried the foot more and so far it has stayed planted the last few hrs. Both vortechs are running at reduced power.

I could be wrong, I'm not super familiar w/ aurora, it just looks more beaded than rings to me in those pics

Appears to have finally settled in and hasn't moved. Vortechs are back on normal speed and slowly turning lights back up.

Day 5 and still in the same spot. Mouth hasn't tightened up all the way yet but otherwise looks healthy so I'm not to worried.
