No "real" info on newer RE pumps = 5, 6, X...?

Anyone have any "real" info on the newer type Royal Exclusive pumps - the 5, 6, and X...?

It's almost impossible to tell what is what from their website.

Thanks!

RD5 has been out for a couple years now. Real info can be found right here where it has been since it was released.

RD6 is a DC skimmer pump and also was released over a year ago for protein skimmers only.

The latest pump is the RDX. That has already been released in the US in the skimmer version. The RDX flow pump version has been released in Europe . The RDX flow pump versions have not officially been released in the US since they have not hit our stock yet. We are however awaiting a shipment of the new RDX pumps to hit the US. Once they do, they will be added to the US website. I expect that to happen within the next week or so.

In the meantime, RDX info can be found here:

When the RDX’s hit our warehouse, they will show up here next to the RD3 and RD5 Eco Pumps.

Well, that's the "problem" - there really is not much relative information regarding these pumps.

There are several different pumps - but no where does it really tell you what the differences between them are - or for what application each pump would be best suited.

It is the same with the skimmers - there are several, four?, models - and no where does it tell you the advantages of each model - or what model is best suited for what applications.

They need a better marketing team, lol.

The Royal Exclusiv website states that the controller for the 40 Watt X pump is: Dimension control unit: 20 mm wide / 90 mm length / ~ 170 mm height

And the controller for the 85 W X pump is: Dimension control unit: 30 mm wide / 95 mm length / ~ 105 mm height

I am assuming that one of these listed heights are incorrect...?

Good catch. You are correct. Thank you for pointing that out. Somebody messed that up when entering the info onto the site and it’s now been corrected. The dimensions should be:
20 mm wide / 90 mm length / ~ 170 mm height

So what is the GPH rating on the 85 W X pump for a normal set up - 36" high stand, 30" tall tank, sump in stand, etc...?

The data sheet with the flow charts at different wattages are still being put together but it would be right around 1300 gph not including friction losses at a 5.5’ head height.
