If you're coming to the frag swap at ABC, I think they may be getting in a batch of berghia nudibranchs. They may be the only option for 'risk free' control, in the sense that they won't pick on other things in the tank.

Peppermint shrimp can work but, they often prefer to eat other things. I tried them. They seemed to do a good job but, as the aiptasia dwindled, they decided to start eating LPS, particularly euphyllia.

I next had a copperband butterfly which did a great job controlling aiptasia and didn't (to my knowledge) bother anything else in the tank. However, it died after a couple of years and when I tried to introduce a new one, my powder blue tang would have none of it. They can also be very finicky eaters. I routinely fed mine fresh clams to keep it happy.

Next I had an aiptasia eating filefish. It did a good job controlling aiptasia (and my rock flower anemones).

So, I'm going to try the berghias and see how that goes. My main concerns are: 1) they will become very expensive wrasse food before they get established; and 2) they will eat all of the aiptasia they can get to and then die out, leaving a few live aiptasia somewhere in the tank, overflows or sump to begin the process anew.

I have not tried the 'wands' but, my sense is that they are like Aiptasia-x, kalk paste, Joe's Juice, etc., they work as well as your commitment to using them as a part of your regulator maintenance.

Matt

I got some berghia nudibranchs from key west.
After I let them in, I never seen them again. After a month I though they didn’t make it because I didn’t see any and the aptasia was still thriving.
Forgetting all about it, 3 months later I noticed the aptasia was almost gone and in no time they were all completely gone.
It’s been a year and I still don’t have ANY aptasia.

Nope

Never seen them after putting them in. They hide well and are nocturnal
