"Unexpected" picture thread

This was a little bit of a tough subject for someone that posts snakes eating rabbits, or hawks eating pigeons, or bugs. I was gonna head down to a junkyard and put an ax through a windsheild, then shoot it from the inside, but it's been a long week at work. So I just did this.

Jesse: yuck! lol

I shot this today...... Totally unexpected when these flew overhead. What's crazy is I'm shooting with a Df and the 105 2.5 AIS, which is a manual focus lens!

Leave me alone.

This was an unexpected, or maybe not, reaction when I moved this tree frog from the house to the plant for the shot. Did not realize he felt this way until I uploaded the pictures.

That was the rules, and that's how I'm playing it. Though no one would really know if there's no EXIF data, or if you hadn't brought it up!!!

I unexpectedly sliced my finger open tonight on some bamboo and didn't even feel it til I went to scratch "an itch" and learned a hard lesson. I considered it for a short second and figured you guys didn't want a macro of a gaping paper-cut-like gash, so here is the unexpected, kinda cute, shot of my tail-spot when I was playing with setting on the new cam. Popped its head out to say hi and ask what I was doing with that stupid black box again.

It's not winning this thread but it was a neat surprise. This one was tough.

I dunno, I am really a fan of the action shot with mallards in flight. Slightly grainy, but it captures me in a way that makes me feel 'there'.

What's unexpected to me is that xtm was able to get a focused shot of birds in flight manually!!

I have to say, JaYbIrD1969's shot of the cat and mouse is the one that made my pupils dilate the most Congrats. You get to pick the next topic.

I assume by misleds photo and also the cat and mouse that using photoshop or similar program is allowed? Just want to know for the future.

The only use of photoshop in my photo was to soften the contrast a bit. This scene plays out all day, every day with this cat. He catches so many "things" I could capture moments like this several times each day if I was motivated.

Wheeeeee!!!!!

I will pick the subject, but I will have to defer the judging to someone else as I will be in the wilderness without internet next Sun-Wed. I'll defer the judging to our MC, Jesse. If you don't mind? I know that puts you in a pickle with your own submission.
Let me know if you have a better idea.

My subject for this weeks assignment is "MUSIC"

Thanks misled.

I realize this contest is just for giggles. But to say you did not use photoshop except for contrast is just untruthful. There are many things in his shot that tell me the mouse was placed on the picture. Eye glare of the cat, eye glare of the mouse, lighting on mouse does not match the rest, flat head of the mouse, left front foot-straight line on bottom, grass blades do not match and a few more. If a man is to be taken by his word his word must be truthful. You guys and gals have fun.

wow! OK. Give me some time and I'll post the sequence. Think of it like this. The cat had already captured and injured the mouse. he was laying on top of it as a matter of fact. When he got bored, he got up to "play with it" The mouse was trying to be defiant in this picture because he knew he had no where to run.

Please be careful of accusing anyone of "cheating" when you don't know them or their skill level. OR their luck
In this case, theres very little luck or skill. My barn cat is a mousing machine who goes into the woods, catches anything smaller than himself including rabbits and takes them to (literally) the geographical center of the lawn, lets it loose and dares it to make a run for it. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING gets away. I am the only occasional savior of these vermin.

Heres the sequence of the above TRUE IMAGE

Original

I accept your apology

A couple other fun ones. Well their fun in a sick sorta way.

By the way, Im pretty dang good with photoshop If I was gonna do something like that it would have been a lot more theatrical!
