Is a UV a UV?

Hello,

Opinions on this UV?

Not sure what it will be like quality wise. I use mostly Jebo equipment on my tank and have been fairly impressed with the quality and this didn't break the bank.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253807093994

Is a UV a UV or am I missing something from this brand to a higher end model?

I've gone for the 36w model as there was not much price difference between the models so it made sense to get the higher watt.

Thanks

I think the issue is how easily to get new bulb? With a aquauv those bulbs last the year and is really available.

saw it too and am waiting for some serious testing on the UV frequency/power, quartz quality and build materials.

I tried one of those and ended up throwing it out. It is made very cheaply their is a massive difference quality wise between that and an emperor or aquauv unit. I have plenty of other jeabo equipment that is great but I wouldn’t trust the uv. The fittings are cheap plastic and would leak easily and the gasket that kept the bulb from the water was also very flimsy

Neither of those brands is available in the UK.

The main mid-market brands are tmc Vectron and evolution aqua (evouv range).

For the watt need approx £100 which in this hobby is not a lot of money for mid-market equipment, but was happy with the Jebo equipment. I will give it ago for the cost.
