Remote Refugium

Looking to plumb in a 40g breeder remote refugium and need some help with ideas for plumbing. I currently have a 220g mixed reef with a DIY 75g sump. Pics attached below..

Looking to run the refugium off of a separate pump (thinking Mag 7?) hard plumb it up to the 40 through a bulkhead (still have to drill the tank). Need some advice on what to do about the overflow. Needs to be relatively quiet bc it is in the room directly behind the tank. Dont want to build an over flow box or buy a hang on the back overflow. Any advice and opinions are welcome!

A beananimal overflow would be most fool proof and silent but requires 4 holes including return to the 40gallon. single glass baffle in the end closest your return would suffice with the return pipe either run over the top of the tank rim (saving one hole) or thru the tank, up to you.

just be sure that the tank is not tempered glass and that it is safe to drill!!!!!!!!!
