Encrusting coral growth support.

Im looking into getting a couple of monti colonies to take over the back wall in my tank. From what I'm seeing, they do better at this job with a layer of coralline already on the glass, in my new 75, there is none. Is there anything to substitute this or does the coralline not make that much of a difference and I shouldnt be worried?

I don't think the coralline algae makes much of a difference. I have a montipora that is growing just as fast on the side glass, (no coralline algae) as it is the back glass. (covered in coralline algae) I also have a montipora that is growing quite well on my plastic overflow box. This doesn't have very much coralline algae on it at all.
