A little bit of wet sanding and it's fine. Slow is key. Your basically grinding into it rather than cutting it! I didn't sand the edges on this box that are going to be butted against the tank because it'll be covered in silicone.

Gotcha. I was thinking of cutting 1/4" glass which would be a lot thinner than yours, however, this may not be a great thing as it makes it a lot more prone to breaking than yours would. Thanks for all your answers BTW
