First qt setup question
I ordered some fish online for the first time and up to this point I haven’t done any qt. I know the equipment i need but am just looking for a little clarification. I plan on observation for a couple weeks then doing TTM as a precaution. I have 2 10 gallon tanks i will be using for TTM and am planning on doing to every other day for 14 days. Can i use water from my DT for my qt water or does it need to be new salt water?

You can use water from your DT for your QT, just never in reverse.

I'd invert the cycle. If your fish come with ich you'll infect your QT. I personally do tm first.
Also the transfer doesn't need to be every couple of days, you can do it but not necessary. Read the sticky post about ttm at the top of the page. Very informative. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Assuming the DT water is disease free, you can use it

I am setting up this qt specifically for these fish. Nothing else will be with them or added thats why i was going to try and make sure they are feeding ok first before starting TTM. My DT is disease free as far as i know. I haven’t had any issues pop up or anything die in over a year so I’m not worried about adding anything to QT

Personally I would use new water. If you are going to take 10 gallons every day from your DT wyou will be making that water any way so use the new and be sure it is desease free. You can go up to but no more than 72 hours between transfers. I do TTM with PaziPro and 2nd and 4th transfers.
