Carpet Nem Stuck

My carpet nem got himself stuck in my overflow drain. Luckily I can just remove the drain and place my backup. Think he will free himself over time?

The carpet will definitely free itself. I would try to move something in front of the drain or put some mesh or something similar on the intake to try and prevent that from happening again. Typically once a carpet finds it "spot" it won't move again unless something in the tank changes ie lighting, flow

I would place it So flow irritates him and he start releasing and moving . Not a enough flow to hurt him but enough to make him unhappy
